Scarlett Johansson is one of my favorite modern actresses. She's beautiful, intelligent, funny and of course she's one darn good actress! One of my favorite looks on her is when she portrayed Kay Lake in The Black Dahlia. The film itself isn't the greatest but I love the hair, makeup and costumes so I can overlook that haha. I did some research online and found out how makeup artist Heba Thorisdottir created Scarlett's look. It was inspired and created to match film noir in 1946 to 1947. Heba used three different shades of red on Scarlett from Julie Hewett's Film Noir Collection. Of course I was pleased when I read this..I love the Film Noir lipsticks! Nude Noir was used for a bare look, Rouge Noir for everyday and Femme Noir for a more dramatic look. I love this look so much that I filmed a makeup tutorial inspired by it! It's a very easy everyday 40's look and I hope you enjoy!

You and this look are both so pretty - thank you very much for sharing a great make-up tutorial with us, dear gal.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, too, for your lovely comment on my 1940s dress post today. That handbag is one of my faves I've ever owned - I really foresee using it a lot when the temps dip and heavier fabrics become the norm again.
